How to change a Nest doorbell ringtone to Halloween sounds

(Pocket-lint) – If you own a Nest video doorbell, did you know you can change its ringtone? Google offers seasonal ringtones for its doorbells, including Halloween-themed ringtones for the month of October. They’ll ring both from the doorbell itself and on any Google Nest speakers or smart displays in your home.

Here’s how to change your doorbell ringtone to one of the spooky new sounds.

How to change the ringtone on your Google Nest video doorbell

You can select a new ringtone in the Google Home app settings for Nest Doorbell (battery) or the Nest app for Nest Doorbell (wired). The Verge said the new Halloween ringtones will not be coming to Google’s old Nest Hello Doorbell.

  1. Open the latest version of the Google Home or Nest app on your mobile device.
    • Deployment before October 1, 2021
  2. Select your doorbell.
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. From there, you should see the option to change your ringtone.

What Halloween ringtones can you try?

They include an evil laugh, a skeletal dance, a creepy crow, a hu ghost, a howling werewolf, a cackling witch, and more.

When will Halloween ringtones be available?

Halloween ringtones will arrive on October 1, 2021 and will be available until Halloween.

On November 1, 2021, your doorbell will automatically revert to the default tone. But you can go to your app settings and choose another seasonal tone for the holidays. Last year there were holiday-themed sounds for Christmas, Hanukkah, New Years and Kwanzaa. We expect similar species to land this year.

There are also six new ringtones available throughout the year in settings.
