Spitfire Audio is making the BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover plugin free for everyone, and you can download it now

Previously available for $49 or as a free download for anyone willing to take a quiz and wait 14 days, Spitfire Audio Discover’s BBC Symphony Orchestra connect is now instantly free for everyone.

Designed to be an easy-to-use entry point into the world of orchestral composition, Discover features 33 instruments (these cover strings, woodwinds, brass and percussion) and 47 playing techniques, all mixed in a single signal.

The instrument offers simple controls and weighs just 200MB, although Spitfire claims the sound is nevertheless “remarkable”.

“Our ambition for…Discover is for it to become the absolute entry point for anyone wishing to discover orchestral music, with all the instruments you would need to create basic orchestrations, but with a very small footprint and reduced articulations “says Spitfire. Audio co-founder Paul Thomson.

Available for PC and Mac in VST/AU/AAX formats, BBC Symphony Orchestra Discover can be downloaded for free from the Spitfire Audio (opens in a new tab) website. Anyone who purchased Discover within the last month will receive a gift card worth $49/£49/€49, which can be redeemed by contacting the Spitfire Audio customer service team.
