Windows 11 began its rollout earlier this month, as Microsoft launched its new operating system on eligible devices on October 5. Everyone using Windows 10 can free upgrade if they have a compatible computer, but a lot of people are still waiting for the opportunity.

Microsoft is deploying the operating system in phases, so your system may not yet prompt you to upgrade. In fact, you might not find it even if you ask your computer to check for updates.
